Bell&Ross is a Swiss brand of highly specialized watches. Their factory is in Switzerland in La Chaux-de-Fonds. It was established in 1992 by Bruno Belamich and Carlos A. Rosilo. Both Frenchmen designed watches largely suited to extreme temperatures and various hard conditions. Unlike many of contemporary watch designers, they aimed to make time instruments & not simple watches. The Frenchmen joined hands with a German watchmaker who was an expert in his field. His field of specialization was dials and meters for the dash board. For this reason alone, they constituted a team of aircraft and space control experts who could bring their designs to life without compromise on quality and design. Their aspirations were rewarded when Bell&Ross were readily accepted into the air force and NATO. Furthermore, their split second accuracy found its way into the bomb disposal squad of France. The luxury watch lovers had seen watches like U-Boat and aviation specific watches. But demand for such watches fell rapidly during the 50s and 60s. Bell&Ross not only revived their demand but also launched the Hydromax that proved to be water-resistant and functioned perfectly to the depth of 11,000 meters. Just like Omega this brand too owns the credit of working accurately in space. The ‘Space 1’ model was worn by a German astronaut in 1983.
